Terms of Service
The rules governing access to TWOSU News, use of our journalism and services, content submissions, advertising relationships and other interactions with our publication.
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing, browsing, submitting material to or otherwise using TWOSU News, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the website and its services.
TWOSU News is an independent digital news publication. These Terms establish clear rules for readers, contributors, content submitters, advertisers and others who use our website, submission systems and publishing services.
Acceptance and eligibility
These Terms constitute an agreement between you and TWOSU News concerning your access to and use of websites, webpages, submission systems, interactive features and other services that link to these Terms.
By using TWOSU News, you agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable federal, state and local laws. If you use TWOSU News for an organization, you represent that you have authority to act for that organization.
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. A person under 18 should submit content only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
Publisher and editorial content
TWOSU News publishes journalism, commentary, analysis, public-interest information, video coverage, submitted media and related editorial material. Coverage may include trucking, transportation, roadway safety, public agencies, business, crime, weather, investigations and breaking news.
TWOSU News independently decides what to investigate, publish, update, correct, contextualize or remove. Articles, headlines, photographs, videos, captions and related materials may be revised after publication to correct errors, add developments or improve clarity.
Opinion, satire, commentary and analysis may express viewpoints or interpretations distinct from straight-news reporting. Labels and context may be used where appropriate to help readers understand the nature of the material.
Intellectual property
Except where otherwise identified, original TWOSU News reporting, writing, graphics, logos, branding, page designs, compilations, narration, commentary and video productions are protected by copyright, trademark and other applicable laws.
The TWOSU News name, branding and marks may not be used in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement, authorization or affiliation.
Third-party material
Some reporting may incorporate photographs, videos, public records, documents, quotations or other material owned by third parties and used through permission, license, fair use, public-domain status or another lawful basis. These Terms do not grant users rights TWOSU News does not possess.
Permitted and prohibited use
TWOSU News grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access publicly available portions of the website for lawful personal and informational purposes. You may share links and use brief quotations where permitted by law with appropriate attribution.
Nothing in these Terms restricts rights independently available under law, including fair use.
You may not:
- use TWOSU News for unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive activity;
- gain or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, databases, administrative systems or servers;
- introduce malicious code or interfere with website operation or security;
- impersonate another person or materially misrepresent an affiliation;
- knowingly submit fabricated evidence, materially false information or content you have no right to submit;
- remove copyright, trademark, attribution or rights-management information;
- commercially reproduce or redistribute TWOSU-owned content without authorization or another lawful basis;
- use automated extraction in a manner that materially burdens the website or circumvents access controls.
User submissions
TWOSU News may accept videos, photographs, documents, tips, eyewitness accounts, written stories, correction requests, contact information and other material, collectively called “Submissions.”
Submitting material does not guarantee publication, attribution, compensation or any particular editorial treatment. TWOSU News may verify a Submission and request supporting information before or after publication.
You retain ownership of material you legally own. Providing a Submission does not, by itself, transfer ownership of your copyright to TWOSU News.
Submission license and warranties
Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, when you voluntarily provide material for possible reporting, investigation, publication, promotion or distribution, you grant TWOSU News a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that material for legitimate TWOSU editorial and promotional purposes.
The license includes permission to reproduce, publish, display, distribute, transmit, excerpt, crop, resize, format, caption, subtitle, narrate, translate and combine the Submission with other editorial material as reasonably necessary for publication across TWOSU-operated websites, social accounts, video channels, newsletters and related platforms.
You represent, to the best of your knowledge, that the information accompanying the Submission is materially accurate; that you own the material or possess sufficient authorization to provide it; that you have disclosed known restrictions; and that the Submission does not knowingly violate another person’s copyright, privacy, contractual or other legal rights.
You may notify TWOSU News of a future withdrawal request. TWOSU News will consider that request in good faith, but cannot guarantee removal of material already published, distributed, incorporated into reporting, archived or provided to third-party platforms.
Compensation and separate agreements
A Submission does not automatically create a right to payment, royalties or advertising revenue. Compensation exists only when TWOSU News expressly agrees to it.
Separate written agreements control. A specific content license, contributor agreement, revenue-sharing agreement or advertising contract supersedes these general Terms only for the subject matter addressed by that agreement.
Where a revenue-sharing arrangement applies, eligibility, calculation, platform deductions, payment timing, verification and conduct requirements are governed by the applicable written agreement or published program rules.
Copyright complaints and DMCA
TWOSU News respects intellectual-property rights and maintains procedures for copyright notices and counter-notifications. A claimant or authorized representative should use the dedicated process and provide the information required by applicable law.
TWOSU News may remove or restrict access to material while reviewing a claim and may address repeat infringement involving user-provided material where appropriate.
Corrections, updates and removal requests
TWOSU News reviews credible claims of material factual error. A person or organization may submit documentation through the Request an Edit process.
A request does not require alteration or removal of accurate reporting, protected opinion, fair comment, public records or material that remains supported by available evidence. TWOSU News retains final editorial judgment regarding corrections, clarifications, updates, editor’s notes and removals.
Advertising, sponsorships and affiliate content
TWOSU News may display advertisements, sponsorships, affiliate links, branded content and other commercial material. Material connections will be disclosed where required or appropriate, and paid or sponsored material may be labeled to distinguish it from independent editorial reporting.
Advertising does not give an advertiser control over independent newsroom coverage. Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that submitted claims and creative materials are lawful, accurate and not misleading.
TWOSU News may reject or discontinue advertising that is deceptive, unlawful, harmful to readers or inconsistent with publication standards.
Privacy and third-party services
Use of TWOSU News may involve processing information needed to operate the website, respond to submissions, deliver services, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations. The Privacy Policy governs the handling of personal information and is incorporated into these Terms.
TWOSU News may link to or embed external websites, social platforms, government resources and other third-party services. External links may be provided for reporting, attribution, reference or convenience and do not necessarily constitute endorsement. TWOSU News does not control third-party availability, security, privacy practices or terms.
Disclaimers
TWOSU News works to publish accurate and timely information. News events develop rapidly, sources may initially provide incomplete or conflicting information, and facts may later be clarified or corrected. TWOSU News does not promise that every item will always be complete, current, uninterrupted or error-free.
No professional advice
Unless expressly stated otherwise, TWOSU News content is provided for news, commentary, informational and educational purposes and is not legal, medical, financial, mechanical, engineering or other professional advice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TWOSU NEWS AND ITS SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Limitation of liability and indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TWOSU News and its owners, operators, editors, contributors, representatives and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages arising from use of the website, interruption of service, external websites, third-party conduct, unauthorized access or reliance on published information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless TWOSU News and its owners and representatives from claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable expenses resulting from your material breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the service, intentional misrepresentation or a Submission for which you knowingly lacked the represented rights.
Availability, security and termination
TWOSU News may modify, suspend or discontinue website features for editorial, operational, legal, technical or security reasons. Continuous availability and freedom from technical defects or malicious third-party activity cannot be guaranteed.
TWOSU News may restrict access to submission systems or interactive features when reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraudulent activity, security threats, unlawful conduct or repeated violations of these Terms.
Governing law and disputes
To the extent permitted by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of TWOSU News that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Idaho, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing prevents a party from seeking emergency or injunctive relief where legally available.
Changes and general provisions
TWOSU News may revise these Terms to reflect changes in services, publishing practices, commercial operations, website functionality or legal obligations. The Last Updated date will identify the current version. Continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with incorporated policies, form the general agreement governing use of TWOSU News.
Specific written licensing, contributor, advertising or revenue-sharing agreements may supplement or supersede these Terms for the subject matter they address.
